Attacking Barbarian Villages is one of the best ways to gain resources, Gold, and Generals score in the early-to-mid game without generating "bash points" (which prevents the enemy from knowing you are attacking). Before sending your troops, you must understand how the Barbarian Village operates.

Many players send an army without artillery. If the Barbarians have a Wall level 10+, your Spearmen will die instantly. Always check the wall level. Use Steam Giants to absorb damage

Pure Wood and basic building materials to kickstart your academy and town hall. Levels 11 to 20: The Wall Appears

If you are overwhelmed by a barbarian retaliation, you can pay a resource tribute to buy a ceasefire. Speed is your priority here

Use the "Pillage" command, not "Attack." Pillaging allows you to choose which resources to take if you win. Send your naval fleet first. It will arrive faster. Wait. Then send your ground troops to arrive 30 seconds after your navy clears the coast.

: Barbarians provide a mix of building materials and luxury resources. Time your attacks so the resources land when your warehouses have enough capacity to store them safely from player raiders.
